This iconic low-built contemporary house, whereby the innovations of the property’s development were directly informed by the site's limitations, has been designed into a unique contemporary home.

The property is invisible from the road, and situated in a tight space between established property boundaries. The client's desire was for a luxury modern home, with a spacious atmosphere, in a crowded residential district.

To fully exploit the unique proportions of the site, the manipulation of negative space and light became our primary focus. To this effect we placed a double height descending courtyard at the heart of the building, creating an open environment, which simultaneously brought in natural light down to basement level. 

Cedar House won the Best Luxury Home Award in the Evening Standard competition of that year.
